The Australian premiere of ‘Happy Feet 2’, was held on Sunday, December 4 at Sydney’s Entertainment Quarter.
Despite the bad weather, which actually helped to convert the Hoyts cinema into the Arctic, tons of fans showed up to the venue to try to get a closer look at one very especial guest, a famous funny man and Oscar winner Robin Williams who walked the “cold and snowy” red carpet alongside the Australian director of the film, George Miller.
Robin Williams arrived at the red carpet around 3.45pm, and showed how a celebrity of his category should be, literally stopping for every single person en route, posing for photos and signing autographs with a big smile on his face, and even joked around. On the other hand, George Miller also stopped for some die-hard Mad Max fans, posing for quick photos and signatures before entering the media area for his interviews.
We had the chance to attend the screening of the film (review coming soon), with an intro from George Miller and Robin Williams. The former quickly thanked everyone for attending and introducing Robin Williams while the latter, loyal to his iconic style did a great entrance with great comedy, like imitating the Aussie accent during his speech. Moreover, before leaving, Mr. Williams shook every single possible hand, especially for the little ones, until he found out his way out of the room…What a marvellous man!
