Japan Sneaks Into Sydney Thanks To Smash! 2015

The weekend of August 8-9, 2015, Sydney showcased the best of Japan’s pop culture, as Smash! returned to Parramatta’s Rosehill Gardens for another memorable convention.

As expected, a huge crowd of visitors arrived early to the event, and once again with the cosplayers being the center of attraction with their world-class costumes and willingness to pose for photos. In addition, Smash! prepared a bunch of activities for everyone, with areas for gaming, cDSC_8596osplay competitions, live music and a fantastic line-up of international guests including Creative Intelligence Arts’ CEO Hiroaki Yura, Naruto voice-actor Noriaki Sugiyama), anime presenter Danny Choo, cosplay royalty Reika and KANAME, and the Smash! debut of Japanese Band ‘Loverin Tamburin’.

Smash! once again showed the results of a flawless behind the scenes work, as the event was perfectly organised,  with clear information, abundant parking areas, good – and not ridiculously expensive like in similar events – food options and enough space for cosplayers to move, change and even cloak their bulky stuff, ensuring the safety and full enjoyment of everyone in attendance.

Overall, Smash! is an intimate event that embraces the Japanese Pop Culture at its best and delivers two days of impeccable Otaku-themed entertainment…Keep on with the good work guys!
