Review: Huntly – ‘Songs In Your Name’ EP

We didn’t think it was possible to like Huntly anymore than we did after hearing their debut EP ‘Feel Better or Stop Trying‘ but they have just released their new EP entitled ‘Songs in Your Name‘ and it is very possible that we like it even more than the first EP.

The EP opens on a strong note with track ‘Please‘ that includes dual female/male vocals which reminds me of The XX. It is clear that the overall sounds on the EP is geared towards more pop influences than the first EP, however with that said it is not a departure from their trademark electronic drenched beats that are still very much part of their sound. The four track EP (which includes a Nite Fleit remix of ‘Please’) is a definitely a progression from the sound Huntly established on their debut EP and if this next offering is anything to go by then Huntly is on an upward trajectory and we can’t to hear what is next from them. You can catch Huntly in major cities across Australia, dates below.
