FOO FIGHTERS ROCK SYDNEY HARBOUR FOR CHANNEL [V] & TRIPLE M

FOO FIGHTERS well and truly rocked Sydney Harbour in an exclusive event for Channel [V] and Triple M last week. Taking over Goat Island at sunset, they lived up to their reputation as one of the world’s biggest and hardest hitting bands by putting on the longest performance of their fifteen year career and without a doubt the gig of the year.

In a marathon three hour set, Dave Grohl, Nate Mendel, Taylor Hawkins, Chris Shiflett and Pat Smear, tore through their new album, Wasting Light playing every single track for just 500 of their biggest [and luckiest] fans. It was the first time that their new material was performed in Australia, and from the reaction of the crowd, the band has another hit album on their hands when it is released on 8th April.

With Sydney Harbour Bridge as their stunning backdrop FOO FIGHTERS then let rip with song after song from their stellar career sending the crowd into an absolute frenzy. From Monkey Wrench, Everlong and Learn To Fly, to The Pretender, My Hero and Times Like These, the list just goes on and on. Not content with finishing their planned two hour set, Dave Grohl screamed “Ten more songs,” and everyone on the island was treated to another hour of music. The finally closed the night with This Is A Call.

Bummed that you missed the gig of 2011? Fear not! FOO FIGHTERS WASTING LIGHT ON THE HARBOUR will be broadcast across Channel [V] and the Triple M Network on Saturday 2 April at 11.00am and on MAX at 8.30pm the same day so you can experience the rock powerhouse in all their glory. It will be the first time in the world that their new material is televised and broadcast.

Tune into Channel [V] or Triple M for what is without doubt the biggest, most high octane and memorable show of the year.

FOO FIGHTERS’ forthcoming seventh studio album, Wasting Light will be released on April 8th through Sony Music Entertainment Australia. The first official single, Rope, is available to purchase now.
