Untitled Group announces DRIFT, a brand-new single-day electronic music festival coming to Perth and Brisbane in early 2027, bringing a fresh festival experience to two unique city locations. Spanning two stages, DRIFT will bring together local and international electronic music, with a focus on musical discovery, carefully curated lineups and a sense of exploration.
DRIFT lands at Ozone Reserve in Boorloo /Perth on Sunday 28 February ahead of the WA Labour Day public holiday, before heading to the Gateway Bridge Underpass in Meanjin /Brisbane on Saturday 6 March, transforming two very different urban settings into open-air destinations for electronic music, moving from afternoon into evening and late into the night.
Drift, as in drifting off. That moment between awake and asleep, when reality starts to bend a little and anything feels possible. It’s the starting point for a festival built around great music, distinctive settings and a sense of discovery.
Ahead of the festival’s debut, Untitled Group has introduced The Drift Study, a cryptic campaign exploring the subconscious minds of Perth and Brisbane. The campaign invites curious locals to enter a mysterious sleep study, with a trail of clues and a dedicated website offering the first glimpse into DRIFT’s dreamlike world.
Across two stages, DRIFT will move from afternoon into evening and late into the night, with carefully curated lineups and sound at the centre of the experience. Distinctive stage design will help shape the atmosphere, bringing a unique visual identity to each location and creating an immersive setting for audiences to explore the breadth of electronic music and discover something unexpected along the way.
While DRIFT shares a name and a common creative vision across both cities, each event is being shaped around its own setting. Perth gets a late-summer Sunday by the water, while Brisbane brings a raw, industrial edge, with the city’s concrete infrastructure and urban surrounds setting the scene for a Saturday night of electronic music.
