Channel [V] Music Stage making waves at The Australian Open of Surfing

What happens when you combine surf, sand and skating, throw in some legends of rock and electro pop, add a pinch of indie love, PLUS mix in some of the best home-grown talent Australia has to offer!? A recipe for awesomeness!

That’s just what Channel [V] brought to iconic Manly Beach over the weekend which saw over 20,000 people across two days dancing, singing and throwing their hands up as the sun set last Friday 17 and Saturday 18 February! The [V] MUSIC STAGE was the place to be to catch the much hyped, free, all ages Australian Open of Surfing concerts that kicked off on the Friday with DJ/Producer supremo, Grant Smillie, dancefloor kings, Bluejuice and music sensation Sneaky Sound System who took the sand by storm.
According to Black Angus, Sneaky Sound System were amped to perform, “There is something magical about performing by the water in the middle of summer, what’s even better is doing it in your hometown!”
The good times and killer performances continued on Saturday when sisters who shred, Stonefield, along with indie rock heroes, Children Collide and ARIA 2011 winners of Australia’s Best Live Band award The Living End, took to the stage bringing maximum rock ‘n’ roll.

Headliners The Living End, couldn’t wait to take over Manly Beach, says drummer, Andy Strachan, “At last, my two biggest passions, surfing and rock ‘n’ roll, have come together and the best job in the world has just gotten better! I can’t begin to tell you how stoked we are to be a part of this event!” Sure enough, they annihilated Manly Beach, hitting the [V] MUSIC STAGE and putting on a killer performance to close a massive weekend of music.

Missed out on the live shows? Channel [V] has got you covered as both concerts will be repeated in full this week.
