‘Vikings’ Season 4 Part 1 Review

Thanks to Fox Home Entertainment, we had the chance to see the second season of Vikings Season 4 Part 1 in glorious Blu-ray quality.

v4_03_04212015_bw_00080Season 4, finds an injured and very ill Ragnar (Travis Fimmel) returning to Kattegat, where his suspected death unleashed a scramble to succeed him, while Rollo (Clive Standen) once again betrays his brother and decides to live like a king in Frankia, decided to marry Princess Gisla, a move that will unleash a new war between Vikings seeking the control of Paris.

Vikings once again surprises viewers, as the lush production beautifully recreates Norse legends and the plot twists, battles and conflicts between characters keep growing, even making beloved characters like Floki or Ragner himself feel like true villains. Moreover, the clever and dynamic screenplay, across the series, is a clear example of how epic tales should always be built in order to be perpetual.

v4_06_07032015_bw_8409As expected, this season features non-stop battles, impressive photography and a mix of practical and digital effects in order to recreate the Viking era with as many details as possible.

The Blu-Ray release includes audio commentaries, a must-see feature about the transformation of Rollo, all the “The Songs Of Ragnar”, and The Viking Seafaring Prowess with behind the scenes and historic facts about the series.
