Sony Computer Entertainment Australia (SCE Aust.) is pleased to confirm that one of the most highly anticipated titles of 2013, The Last of Us™, will be available in-store next week, Friday 14th June, only on PlayStation®3 (PS3™).
Developed by the world renowned California-based development studio, Naughty Dog Inc., The Last of Us takes place twenty years after a pandemic has radically changed known civilization. A genre-defining experience blending survival and action elements set in a world decimated by a modern plague, The Last of Us combines a gripping and evocative narrative with stunning graphics. The character-driven journey of Joel and Ellie through post-pandemic United States is rife with suspenseful, high tension gameplay and has already been awarded multiple accolades and high praise from critics across the globe.
To mark the launch of The Last of Us, Naughty Dog Inc. Game Designer, Ricky Cambier, travelled to Australia.
“From the early ideas that inspired us through to all the final details, we’ve worked hard to bring to life the vision for The Last of Us. We’ve made sure it’s something we are proud to deliver to our fans. It’s really gratifying that people will finally be able to play the game, to get inside the story, and to experience the world we’ve created where a genuine feeling of survival is brought together with action gameplay,” said Cambier.
While in Australia, Cambier revealed more about the game’s development as part of a panel discussion on ‘The Making of a Blockbuster Game,’ for the Vivid Ideas Exchange event line-up.
The Last of Us will be in-stores across Australia on Friday 14th June with a recommended retail price of AUD$99.95. On launch, the game will also be available to purchase digitally via the PlayStation®Store.
