‘That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime’ Season One Part 2 Review

Thanks to Madman we were able continue watching the adventures of the great Rimuru Tempest as the second part of  “That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime” (Tensei Shitara Suraimu Datta Ken) is finally available on Blu-ray in Australia.

After defeating the mighty Orc Demon Lord, our favourite slime (Rimuru) is proclaimed as Slime Chancellor of the forest. Rimuru decides to unify all the races, including the Lizardmen, Dwarves, goblins, trolls, humans and even the Orcs in order to start trade agreements with them. What was seeming to be a peaceful time is suddenly disrupted by the Demon Lords, who won’t give in until Rimuru’s reign is over and their power is recognised, even if it means waking the terrible the ruler of the skies “Charybdis“.

Part two of the series is a bit darker and gets straight to the action and gore with the Orc army attacking the Lizardmen and eating them to acquire their powers, unleashing a true epic battle with a couple of twists involving the Demon Lords’ true intentions.

In addition, we get to meet new characters like former Demon Lord Milim Nava, who is even stronger than Rimuru, but decides to join him because he was able to give her delicious food., She’s a character that brings fresh, childish comedy to the series, as well as some great action.

Overall, ‘That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime’ Season One Part 2 continues on the right path. It’s entertaining, beautifully animated with nice character design, epic action and fun comedy that’s never over the top or unnecessary.

The Blu-ray/DVD combo extras include: episode commentaries, video commentary, promo videos, commercials, textless opening, ending songs and a special bonus episode called “episode 24.5” that will definitely be enjoyed by anyyone who loves the series. Get your copy here.
