Melbourne Storm and Man of Steel: No ordinary Match

Storm Steel themselves for No Ordinary Match

Metropolis comes to Melbourne at AAMI Park on Sunday night against Cronulla Sharks, when Melbourne Storm celebrates the Australian release of the Super Hero film Man of Steel™ on 27 June.

The game has been named No Ordinary Match and as part of the theming the team will wear a specially designed Superman jersey.

The one-off jersey features the iconic Superman shield across the torso. Additionally, it also includes graphical elements of the Super Hero’s suit to align with the theme of the movie. The players’ numbers will also be displayed in the red made recognisable by the iconic comic book character.

Melbourne Storm’s official apparel partner, KooGa, is producing only 700 replica jerseys for retail sale in Australia, with the exclusive collector’s item anticipated to sell out quickly. The Superman jerseys are available at and at the game if not sold out. Player jerseys will also be auctioned off after the match via the club’s website.

Both KooGa and the club’s major partner Crown have agreed to move their usual logo positioning on the Storm jersey to allow for the famous Superman shield to take the coveted front of the jersey position.

There will be significant themed activity around the match, the official Man of Steel trailer will be played on the AAMI Park big screen.

Fans coming to the match are encouraged to dress up as their favourite Super Hero, with the best costumes to be featured at half-time to compete for the first prize of a Superman jersey and advanced screening passes.
Additionally, the first 5,000 people through the gates will receive an official Man of Steel movie poster.

MAN OF STEEL (3D) will release in Australian cinemas Thursday 27 June 2013
