‘Attack on Titan Season 2’ Review

Thanks to Madman, we had the chance to see Attack on Titan season two in glorious Blu-ray quality.

After defeating the female Titan, Eren and his comrades must stop a horde of Titans coming to Wall Rose. Their plans change when a shocking truth emerges about the origin of the colossal, armoured Titans that nobody ever expected.

The Attack on Titan series changed the game with its very first episode, thanks to impressive animation, unconventional heroes and violence that – despite going over the top – serves a purpose.

Season two continues with that legacy and takes it to the next level adding a new mysterious ape-like Titan to the plot, capable of speaking and commanding the rest of its kind. Warriors fall, unlikely heroes rise and the mystery behind the Titans is revealed!

Animation is state of the art, with a clear additional digital flair compared to season one, making the action even sharper. The main characters have even aged a bit to keep the time-frame and continuity of the story. However, don’t expect to see Eren as the mature hero he is mean to be. At least, not yet.

The Blu-ray also includes tonnes of extras, including interviews with voice cast members Trina Nishimura, Tetsuya Kinoshita & Yui Ishikawa,  a quiz game, interview with the series creator Hajime Isayama, songs and more!

Overall, season two is a triumph, it’s tense, action-packed and of course, gory. Get your copy here.
