28 November 2015 will be remembered as the day the heavy metal community got together at the UNSW’s Roundhouse to worship and celebrate the return to Australia of a true rock God, as Zakk Wylde and his Black Label Society mates hit the stage to perform their best tunes.

After an interesting performance by local opening act Bare Bones, around 21:30 the song “Whole Lotta Sabbath” started playing. Right after that, the lights went off and the mighty Viking of rock, Zakk Wylde, jumped onstage to perform “The beginning…at last” followed by “Bleed for me”, with pure energy, strong vocals, and all while shredding the strings of his iconic guitars.

The setlist was full of fan favourites, such as “Suicide Messiah” and new tracks like “Heart of Darkness.”
Wylde performed his classic 10 minute-guitar solo after “My dying time”, with a huge stage presence, confirming why he is one of the best guitarist in rock history.

Another highlight of the night was when Wylde took to the piano and performed ‘in this river’, a song dedicated to his friend, the late Dimebag Darrell from Pantera, leaving the crowd kneeling.

Overall, it was a magic night, and a live show that became a guitar masterclass which ended with Black Label family performing “Concrete Jungle” and “Still born”. A perfect finale, we must say.
