RED DOG hits $20m at the Australian box office

The team behind RED DOG has ‘pawsed’ to reflect on the film’s success as the underdog tale passed
$20million at the Australian box office yesterday. Nominated for nine Inside Film Awards including best
feature, best director, best actor and best actress, RED DOG is now the 8th largest Australian film of all time.

The MPDAA Top 10 is: Crocodile Dundee ($47.7m), Australia ($37.5m), Babe ($36.7), Happy Feet ($31.7m), Moulin Rouge ($27.7m), Crocodile Dundee 2 ($24.9m), Strictly Ballroom ($21.7m), RED DOG ($20m), The Dish ($17.9) and The Man From Snowy River ($17.2m).

Currently in the USA at the Heartland International Film Festival, RED DOG producer Nelson Woss stated:
“The film has now clearly shown its box office potential in Australia and the team behind it are working hard

DOG and now it’s time to share our story with the world.”

Directed by Kriv Stenders, RED DOG stars Josh Lucas, Rachael Taylor and an ensemble cast including
Luke Ford, Arthur Angel, John Batchelor, Rohan Nichol, Noah Taylor, Loene Carmen and Keisha
Castle-Hughes and KOKO as Red Dog.

RED DOG was adapted by Daniel Taplitz from the best-selling novel by award-winning author Louis De
Bernières (Captain Corelli’s Mandolin). The film was shot in South Australia and the remote Pilbara region of Western Australia.
