Free CULT OF CHUCKY screening at Sydney Underground Film Festival

Sydney’s leading festival for bizarre and adventurous films, the Sydney Underground Film Festival (SUFF) returns from September 14th to 17th and to add to their already jam-packed program, they’ve just announced a special gift to Sydney.

To support the release of Cult of Chucky on Blu-RayÔ, DVD and Digital from October 18th, the Festival will host a free midnight screening of the tantalizingly twisted film, straight from its world premiere only days ago at FrightFest 2017.

Everyone’s famous murderous doll is back with a vengeance in Cult of Chucky, now modeled in glorious CG and ready to settle some old scores – the bloodiest way possible. With a wicked wit, some of the year’s most inventive kill sequences and a body count that just keeps stacking up; Cult of Chucky is a fiendish treat, not only for lovers of the original series but for all horror movie maniacs.

Festival director Stefan Popescu said “As a teen, Chucky scared me as much as Freddy Krueger, Mike Myers and Leatherface… except he’s just a doll. Don Mancini is a genius to be able to make an inanimate object a terrifying killer with just, essentially, puppetry. Chucky is a horror icon and we’re very pleased to bring Cult of Chucky to the Sydney film community for free! It is going to be one hell of a fun screening.”

The screening will take place at midnight (in case you weren’t already spooked enough) at the Factory Theatre, Marrickville.

Over four big days the Sydney Underground Film Festival will screen more than 100 films sourced from the world’s very best experimental, innovative and controversial filmmakers. Tickets are on sale now via
