A rapturous audience gathered at St Stephen’s Anglican Church in Sydney’s Newtown last night for the final RUSSIAN STANDARD VODKA LIVE AT THE CHAPEL event of 2011, where they were privileged to view breathtaking live performances from Eskimo Joe and PNAU.
The tone of the evening was set early on with Russian Standard Vodka’s special touches – ice sculptures, plentiful cocktails and caviar, as well as gorgeous models, alongside a guest list incorporating Sydney’s social set, music industry types, media and uber-fans.
With fans buzzing with excitement in the intimate surrounds of the Chapel, Eskimo Joe hit the stage with their first song ‘Echo’ from the new album ‘Ghosts Of The Past’, rousing the crowd to their feet and setting the scene for an amazing night of live music. Lead singer Kav Temperley was in fine voice, with classics ‘From The Sea’ and ‘Black Fingernails, Red Wine’ sounding as good as ever, and recent single ‘Love Is A Drug’ ensuring a truly special moment.
Following a brief interval, Nick Littlemore and Peter Mayes from PNAU took over proceedings, their electro-pop sounds filling the space like no act has before! With the entire room up and dancing, favourites were clearly the hits such as ‘Embrace’,‘The Truth’, ‘Solid Ground’ and ‘Unite Us’, with strong focus on material from their new record ‘Soft Universe’.
“For the last gig of the year, I’m happy to say we really went out with a bang,” said Andrew Skehan, Brand and Business Director, Beam Global Australia. “It was great to see so many real music fans at such a unique event, Russian Standard Vodka Russian Lemonade and Summer Spritz cocktails in hand, in the stunning setting of the Chapel.”
Mr Simon Joyce , Chief Executive of MCM Entertainment Group, who produce the show, was delighted with the evening’s outcome, saying last night, “The double bill concept for Russian Standard Vodka Live At The Chapel has exceeded all expectations – what an amazing live music offering. It’s been a hugely successful collaboration with Russian Standard Vodka and we can’t wait to bring Live At The Chapel back next year.”
The final Russian Standard Vodka Live At The Chapel for 2011, featuring Australia’s finest, Eskimo Joe and PNAU will be broadcast on Nine’s digital channel GO! on December 4 and on Channel Nine on December 14.
