The series follows a group of five high school students who are the first and only men accepted into the formerly girls’ Hachimitsu Private Academy. What seems to be a guy’s ultimate dream soon becomes a nightmare when they get busted for spying on the girls’ bathroom. As punishment, the five are sentenced to serve time in the school prison by the evil, man-hating student council.
Now the school’s new kids must endure punishment and hard labour while trying to keep their hormones in check to avoid being expelled.
Prison School is a rare find in which ecchi, comedy and drama find a perfect balance; think “Prison Break” meets “To Love Ru-Darkness” and you’ll get an idea of the great ride you’re in for.
The main characters are great and have totally contrasting personalities. Takehito steals the show with his outrageous plans to break out that even cause him to compromise his integrity more than once. On the other hand, the girls of the student council are like dominatrixes, especially the voluptuous vice president who for some reason gets way too many unnecessary close-ups.
Overall, “Prison School“ is clever, fun and delivers a killer “Ocean’s Eleven” type of finale that viewers are sure to love.
